Dr. Schwimmer’s particular areas of interest are the diagnosis, care and treatment of patients with inflammatory bowel disease, ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease as well as patients with immunological diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. He is an active member of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America and has published in major medical journals and presented at medical conferences about the treatment, outcomes and management of IBD patients. During his residency and fellowship training, Dr. Schwimmer participated in clinical research and community outreach programs. He has also been recognized for leading quality improvement projects that helped streamline communication and advance patient education.
