FDHS adds two new gastroenterologists

We’re thrilled to welcome two new gastroenterologists to our team! Dr. Kimberly Brizell and Dr. Vanessa Kuwajima will start seeing patients on Sept. 1, 2021. Both are accepting new patients.

Dr. Kimberly Brizell – Bradenton

Dr. Brizell provides comprehensive care for gastrointestinal and liver diseases in Bradenton, FL, at Suncoast GI Associates. Dr. Brizell attended medical school in Philadelphia, PA, before moving to Florida to complete her internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at HCA Healthcare/USF Morsani College of Medicine at Largo Medical Center. She enjoys connecting with her patients and creating personalized treatment plans to help them lead healthy, happy lives. Dr. Brizell looks forward to providing care for patients in Bradenton and the surrounding communities.

“My goal as a physician is to always put patient care first and treat each of my patients as my own family. Listening to patient concerns is a top priority, and I enjoy dedicating time to help them become the happiest, healthiest versions of themselves.”

Dr. Vanessa Kuwajima – Rockledge

Dr. Kuwajima spent much of her academic and professional gastroenterology career at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. There, she focused on inpatient consultation services, safely transitioning patients from inpatient to outpatient care, and advancing the highest quality delivery of digestive health care. During her tenure at MU, she assumed multiple leadership positions, including directorship of the GI fellowship program. She recently moved to Florida with her loving husband and four children to be closer to family.

Dr. Kuwajima looks forward to providing care for patients in Rockledge and the surrounding communities.

“It is an absolute pleasure and privilege to be part of each patient’s wellness journey!”
